I was born and bred on the family beef unit at Maungakaramea, Northland, I left school to pursue a career in dairying in the Taranaki region.
After achieving a Trade certificate in Dairy Farming, and gaining 5 years practical experience, I returned home to work on the family 550 hectare beef farm until 1994 when I married Cherie and purchased a diary unit in Tangiteroria where we farmed together for 11 years, during this time we gained good knowledge and experienced good results through our involvement with Nutri-Link.
I joined Nutri-Link as a consultant in 2001.
After selling the dairy farm in 2005, we purchased a 62 hectare grazing block in Maungatapere where our 3 children, Ethan, Kaitlyn and Elle attend school.
Like many kiwi blokes, I enjoy following rugby and playing the occasional round of golf, as well as most things sporting.
Farming has always been a passion and now, with Nutri-Link, the motivation is having the opportunity to contribute not only to the fertiliser nutrient management, but the succession and growth of each individual farming operation.
